  1. Only citizens can vote

    1. Green-card holders can’t vote until they become citizens
    2. Even if you have a driver’s license/some form of ID, you can’t vote unless you are a citizen.
    3. Only citizens can register to vote!
  2. Things You Should Not Do

    1. Do not vote if you aren’t a citizen. This can result in your naturalization application being denied. In some cases, you could be deported by ICE.
  3. How To Resolve Voting Mistakes

    1. If you accidentally register to vote...

      1. Contact the County Auditor’s office and ask them to cancel your registration.
    2. Contact an immigration lawyer. California provides free legal consultation.

    3. Why do voting mistakes happen?

      1. Some states like Pennsylvania send voter registration documents to anyone with a driver’s license/or anyone who is applying for one.
      2. Do not vote even if you receive ballots in the mail. You can’t vote until you attain citizenship!
